Mitteroim-Musi was founded in 2002 and the musicians live in the two districts of Rosenheim and

Ebersberg. In the current line-up we have been playing together since January 2018.

Our repertoire includes traditional alpine folk music and bohemian-moravian brass music.

In 2002, as a special wedding interlude for a singer and musician friend, five musicians sat down

together to rehearse a piece of music and perform it at the wedding.

The only handicap: everyone takes a different instrument than the one they actually learned.
So after a successful interlude, the question arose whether we would continue to make music in

this instrumentation. Answer: YES

Our first music rehearsals took place in the carpentry workshop of our flugelhorn player Christoph

Buchner. As this workshop is on the lower slopes of mount Mitterberg, the obvious naming was

"Mitterberg-Musi".

After a short time it turned out that a music group with the same name already existed and

therefore another name had to be found.

On the calendar with alpine pictures hanging in the rehearsal room there was a picture of the

Mitteralm on mount Wendelstein.

"Mitteroim" being the according Bavarian translation of German "Mitteralm", was chosen without

further ado as a replacement for "Mitterberg" and since this day we perform under the name

"Mitteroim-Musi".

In the meantime we were invited to perform several times at our namesake, The "Mitteroim".
